Principal’s Corner

A Note from Principal Bogle:

August, 2017

Dear St. Charles School Families,

“Saint Charles Borromeo School, a Catholic faith-filled community, sees Christ in all.  We build a strong foundation of Faith, foster an unending appetite for Knowledge, instill Honor through Christ-like actions, and provide opportunities to achieve Balance as well-rounded individuals.”

On behalf of the school faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year. We hope that your summer has been blessed with adventures and joy and that your children are refreshed to begin a new school year. May we inspire our students to be excited in their faith and the knowledge that this new year will bring.

St. Charles has a long standing tradition of providing academic excellence in a faith-filled tradition. A strong working relationship with parents and parishioners is essential to the success of our Catholic schools.  I look forward to seeing all of you as we work together this school year.

In an effort to bring uniformity to the school all students in grades TK-8 will begin school at 7:50 this year.  Students will be able to enter the school building at 7:30 and meet in Walsh Hall until 7:40 at which time they will be allowed to proceed to their classrooms.  Preschool students who arrive early will be permitted in their classrooms at 7:40.  Preschool will begin the morning session at 8:00.   The school day will end at 2:45 for car riders and walkers, and 2:50 for those riding a school bus.

Over the summer we have installed new windows throughout the school, added central air conditioning to the school offices, clinic, and teacher lounge.  The preschool playground is complete with fencing and landscaping.  The gym floor has been refinished for physical education and sporting events.  We have purchased additional chromebooks for the intermediate grades and classroom chromebooks for grades K-2.  We thank the many donors, PTO, Knights of Columbus, and the St. Charles parish for their generosity in making these projects possible.

Please mark your calendar to attend the Family Open House on Sunday, August 20th.  The event is from 12:00-2:00 p.m. You can visit the classrooms and meet the teachers, purchase spirit wear, add money to your cafeteria account, and learn about scouting, athletics, and other school and parish programs.

This year we welcome one new staff member to the school.  Mrs. Amanda Allen will be teaching second grade.  She has thirteen years experience in teaching primary grade children in a Catholic school.  We welcome her our St. Charles family.

The energy and excitement as we welcome the arrival of the first day of school builds with every passing day. I look forward to sharing with the faculty, students and families all the joy that the new school year brings.

Sincerely,

David Bogle
